4/1/2005 – Suwanee, GA: ARRIS (Nasdaq: ARRS – News) today announced that the ground-breaking Wideband Data and Channel Bonding capabilities of its Cadant C4 CMTS with speeds up to 1.28 Gbps and Keystone(TM) D5(TM) Digital Multimedia Termination System (DMTS(TM)) featuring IPTV over DOCSIS will be among the highlights on display at Booth #5452 during next week’s NCTA National Show in San Francisco (Moscone Center, April 3-5).

Other demonstrations of technologies that help ARRIS customers successfully build and maintain multi-service networks for voice, data and video on view in the ARRIS booth will include:
IP Video over DOCSIS: utilizing the ARRIS Keystone D5 Digital Multimedia Termination System (DMTS) and a variety of set-top clients. Among other applications, the Keystone D5’s RF QAM channel-bonding capabilities will be demonstrated, as well as the D5’s ability to simultaneously deliver MPEG-2 transport content in an Edge-QAM mode to an MPEG-2 Transport Set Top Box, while performing CMTS duties on the same content via DOCSIS for IP Video delivery to cable modems and IP Set Top Boxes.
Multi-megabit High-Speed Data Solutions: the ARRIS Cadant DSG-qualified C4 CMTS will be demonstrated, including its high availability, throughput and density. The C4 will feature live 2×12 Cable Access Modules and demonstrate wideband data speeds of up to 1.28 Gbps, hitless RF sparing and Control Complex fail-over.
VoIP: PacketCable and SIP Protocol Solutions will be on display, with a variety of Touchstone(TM) voice and data clients. Typical calling features such as Caller ID, CLASS, etc. will be demonstrated between ARRIS Touchstone PacketCable and SIP E-MTA devices to show PacketCable calling SIP and visa versa.
Fixed Wireless Using DOCSIS applications will be demonstrated using the Cadant C3 CMTS and a variety of wireless voice and data modems.
Commercial Services Data Solutions will be shown using the Cadant C3 CMTS with an Axerra Head End aggregator and CPE device to deliver DS-1 services to ARRIS cable modems as well as the C3’s ability to provide EEE 802.1 VLAN. Additionally, the Cadant C3’s Ingress Noise Cancellation features will be displayed.
