ARRIS to Demonstrate Wideband Data and IPTV at NCTA

4/1/2005 – Suwanee, GA: ARRIS (Nasdaq: ARRS – News) today announced that the ground-breaking Wideband Data and Channel Bonding capabilities of its Cadant C4 CMTS with speeds up to 1.28 Gbps and Keystone(TM) D5(TM) Digital Multimedia Termination System (DMTS(TM)) featuring IPTV over DOCSIS will be among the highlights on display at Booth #5452 during next week’s NCTA National Show in San Francisco (Moscone Center, April 3-5). “The Cadant C4 CMTS and Keystone D5 represent two important steps toward the next generation network architecture and the ARRIS growth strategy of Everything IP … Everywhere,” said ARRIS Broadband VP Marketing and Product Management, Stan Brovont. “When we demonstrated our Wideband DOCSIS solution at NCTA last year, we were well ahead of the wave in identifying new technologies to increase bandwidth for our customers. Now, we look forward to showing our customers our first-to-market, working solution to deliver them greater capacity and flexibility as they look for ways to better serve their subscribers.” Other demonstrations of technologies that help ARRIS customers successfully build and maintain multi-service networks for voice, data and video on view in the ARRIS booth will include: IP Video over DOCSIS: utilizing the ARRIS Keystone D5 Digital Multimedia Termination System (DMTS) and a variety of set-top clients. Among other applications, the Keystone D5’s RF QAM channel-bonding capabilities will be demonstrated, as well as the D5’s ability to simultaneously deliver MPEG-2 transport content in an Edge-QAM mode to an MPEG-2 Transport Set Top Box, while performing CMTS duties on the same content via DOCSIS for IP Video delivery to cable modems and IP Set Top Boxes. During the CCBN show, Arris introduced its new wireless cable modem and CMTS product line which will benefit the remote area and CATV operators without 2-way HFC connections but wants to get into the value added data and VOIP services. The opening of Sino-USA IMRT Consultation Center

On November 26, both the technical cooperation agreement between the Beijing Area Military Hospital and Telecontouring LP, a Texas based service company and the opening ceremony of the Sino-USA IMRT Consultation Center was held at the Beijing Area Military Hospital facility. Telecontouring LP is a Houston, Texas based company that provides anatomical diagramming services for U.S. radiation oncologists, via proprietary Internet broadband network technology. The company has a distinguished member of board of advisors with many well known medical professionals in the USA including Dr. Bruce Minsky of Memorial Sloan-Kettering of New York, Dr. Moshe Maor and Dr. Marsha McNeese of MD Anderson Cancer Center. Beijing Area Military Hospital is one of the major hospitals under the Military Medical Practice. It is a university hospital system with many experts in each of the medical professional fields. Arris, Airtrust and Chengdu KT

October, 2004 – Chengdu KT, as a major Arris VAR in China, has again obtained the second large CMTS contract from Guangzhou CATV. The wining in Guangzhou CATV faced off major competition from Motorola and Cisco. Under the VAR agreement, Chengdu KT by working with Airtrust team will help Arris to map out a development strategy in China for Arris’ digital cable modem and CMTS product marketing and sales.
